Gua Sha
Gua Sha is a natural, alternative therapy intended to address stagnation, reduce inflammation, improve circulation and promote healing. Gua Sha involves scraping of the skin with a massage tool and may be used on the back, neck, arms or legs. Gua Sha may also be used on the face for lymphatic drainage.
Acupuncture
Acupuncture is a Traditional Chinese Medicine technique in which the practitioner stimulates specific acupuncture points using very thin needles. These acupuncture needles stimulate the flow of Qi (energy) in channels also known as meridians throughout the body as well as regulate and promote the flow of blood. Acupuncture can be used to treat a wide variety of ailments including musculoskeletal injuries, headaches, arthritis, digestive concerns, back pain, insomnia, abdominal pain, stress, anxiety and many more. The goal of acupuncture is to not only treat the symptom, but the root cause as well.
Cosmetic Acupuncture
Cosmetic Acupuncture needles cause “micro trauma” in the skin which invigorates the body to repair the area. Needles in the face directly help increase collagen and elastin production. Results to be expected include: reduction in puffiness, improved skin texture, reduction of fine lines, improved complexion, improved elasticity, reduction in recurrence of acne/rosecea, overall this treatment may also help to lift the face.
TMJ Massage
The temporomandibular joints (TMJ) are the joints that connect your lower jaw to your skull. These joints are located just in front of each ear and allow for the opening, closing and movement of the jaw. TMJ dysfunction is a disorder of the joint. Either the muscles of the jaw or the joint itself may be affected. This causes pain and discomfort. TMJ dysfunction symptoms include jaw pain, headaches, earaches, neck/shoulder pain, difficulty opening mouth, jaw clicking/popping, difficulty chewing, tinnitus, swelling in side of face, tooth pain. TMJ massage includes: assessment of the jaw, massage of head, neck, shoulders, and face. Using a gloved hand, massage of the muscles inside the mouth that are directly attached to the TMJ.
Deep Tissue Massage
Deep tissue massage is a therapeutic massage technique focusing on deeper layers of muscle. Deep strokes and firm pressure are used to target and release chronic muscle tension and adhesions (knots) in the inner layers of muscles and connective tissues. Deep tissue massage is often used for chronic muscle pain or tightness, injuries, posture - related issues, sports recovery or scar tissue and adhesions from old injuries. Unlike relaxation-focused massages, deep tissue massage is designed for therapeutic work on deeper tissues.
Cupping
Cupping is a natural, alternative therapy that is used to promote blood circulation in the area that cups are placed. Cups are placed on the skin to create suction. This suction may help to smooth the flow of Qi (energy). This may relieve tension of the muscles and improve blood flow as well as promote cell repair.
Tui Na
Tui Na massage can help to free the flow of Qi (energy) to promote balance within the body. Tui Na massage involves the stimulation of acupuncture points with the practitioners fingers rather than needles and there are many different techniques which may be used to achieve this.
